Dr. Jorge Cervilla’s research group develop six current main research lines:

Epidemiology and Risk/Protective Factors for Mental Disorders

To measure mental disorders frequency and to identify risk and protective factors.

Psychopathology and Treatment of Delusional Psychosis

Delusional Disorder and Paranoia are psychotic disorders that need specific diagnostic and treatment measures and the objective of this research line is to try and identify them.

Gene-by-Environment Interaction in Psychiatry

Most psychiatric conditions have a degree of genetic influence although environmental and psychological factors are also needed for a mental disorder to develop.

Identifying Mental Disorder Predictors

We are currently working on algorithms to identify population-base predictors of mental health and mental disorder.

Exploring New Psychotic Phenotypes

The very definition of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia or paranoia are yet to be definitely established. This research line aims to re-define precise symptomatic boundaries for such psychotic disorders.
